Stress—a ubiquitous part of everyday life—can affect our daily decisions. We explore how acute stress changes choice behavior in a trust game. By modeling how individuals learn about their partners’ behavior under stress, we test whether increased cortisol disrupts efficient and successful processing of social norms and behavior.
