Interoception and Decision-Making

ABSTRACT

Studies on the roles of emotion in decision-making have highlighted a powerful role for emotions in influencing choices. The source of the individual differences in emotional responses, and thus in choices, are unclear, however. Here, we examined how aware participants were of their emotional responses, and then had them perform a risky decision-making task that separates some of the processes driving choices, thereby connecting the ability to be emotionally aware to the choices we make.
